Web Series Review: Zakir Khan’s Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare is a Healthy and Pure Indian Comedy Drama.
Famous standup comedian Zakir Khan’s Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare is an 8 episode web series streaming on Amazon Prime Video as an Amazon Prime Exclusive which is created and written by our cheered comedy king Zakir Khan and he himself is there in the series as a lead along with Kumar Varun and Vyom Sharma. The other cast includes Venus, Alka Amin, Zakir Hussain, Pritha Bakshi, Vineet O Sharma, Gaurav Sharma and Abish Mathew and Atul Khatri as special appearances.
Ronny Bhaiya leads a double life – To the world, he is the nephew of the MLA/Vidhayak – and likes to think of himself as a Jann Neta, and at home, he is the jobless 26 years old with no sense of responsibility to his family. The show explores Ronny’s adventures as he gets stuck in multiple situations because of this big lie that precedes him.
Zakir Khan is not only a good standup comic but also a fine writer, he proves it with elan in the web series, this is what Indian television is missing as our idiot box is filled with full of nonsensical garbage unending soaps. Unlike that, Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare explores basic emotions of small-town people and passes the test with flying colors in making us laugh, relate and even cry sometimes. I don’t see Indian TV and even Hindi web series’ too, only western TV shows and Netflix ones in English but I saw this one for Zakir Khan because I love his standup comedy a lot and trust me he didn’t let me down at all. He is very good as an actor too, there’s nothing to say about his comic timing, he just nailed it in every comedy and light scenes. Though in the testing sad emotional scenes he could have acted better, that’s okay, it is just his first outing and he’ll improve with time for sure.
All the other supporting cast members are just too good, hats off to the casting director of the show. Zakir Hussain as Zakir Khan’s father is outstanding, so is Alka Amin as his mother, it is so good to see the scope for senior actors to perform substantially in an Indian series. Abhimanyu Singh as the MLA Pathak is menacing and extremely believable but the performer of the show is Vyom Sharma, who plays Anwar, the right hand of Ronny. He is terrific and I wish to see him more in the future flexing his acting muscles in different characters.
All in all the web series is a Paisa Vasool affair, be a member of Amazon Prime now to enjoy this very healthy comedy-drama which we Indians are missing on TV from a long time.
