Rock On 2 is a Disaster, people spent all the time in Banks and ATMs, not in Cinemas: Last week was a forgettable one for the entire nation and the box office is no different. People spent hours and hours outside the banks and ATMs rather than cinemas. Demonetization hit the country’s normal population and economy more than the black money holders. Last week’s major release Rock on 2 became a huge disaster as it made only 11 cr in week 1 definitely short of 4-5 cr because of cash crunch in the country but content of the movie is also a letdown. This also makes the cult first film feel ashamed and it looked the makers forcefully made the sequel of a cult film reap benefits but all is in vain now. Rock On, to be frank, doesn’t need a franchise.
Hollywood biggie Doctor Strange even in its second week showed some steam and added another 6.75 cr to take the total of two weeks to 21.98 cr ($3.3 million USD), which is low but at least it showed some legs at the box-office.
While, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in its 3rd week made 5.35 cr to take its three weeks total to 110.21 cr and looking to finish around 112 cr, in addition, it has made 82 cr in overseas ($12 million USD) which is very good and makes it a hit, which Ranbir Kapoor needed very much.
And Ajay Devgn acted/directed film Shivaay added only 2.50 cr in the third week and now its total is around 90 cr and soon it’ll finish on 92 cr which means it is an average affair. This week’s releases Force 2 and Tum Bin 2 has also opened very poorly today and we’ll be back next week with all the box office updates, till then stay tuned.
