Who would have thought that all eyes would be on (with due respect) Akshay Kumar with his Toilet Ek Prem Katha to bail the industry out after a spate of epic disasters when the year till date even has a Salman movie in the the chain of flops.

What has really changed for Akshay especially in the last year or so besides horses mouth confession of listening to his wife, is doing quality stuff in terms of if compared to what he was dirtying his hands with few years back, yes their is nothing that succeeds like quality and on the top of it if you are a star then it’s all honky dory. Maybe others too need to learn because many are more intelligent is maybe a misconception after seeing their on screen choices and actions. We at GD never try to demean anyone so don’t think we meant Mr. Rahul or Mr. Krissh.

Should you watch Toilet Ek Prem Katha?

See more than half of the movie goers will or should definitely watch, we at GD hope because (not that the common relation is undying love for the government oops nation) it will help the industry which badly needs a hit also if it inspires at least one to follow the movie for what it stands for as ‘BOOND BOOND SE LOTA BHARTA HAI’.

Kumar is a perfect example of how if someone does entertaining cinema which is sensible he can get back into good books of the audience and win their confidence and it’s fruits he is enjoying. Judging solely by the trailer he is in his elements actually it’s a cakewalk for him doing such roles as a little tweak here or their and a moustache takes care of the rest.

Bhumi Pednekar is one of those rare breeds of actors may be the only one rarity who utilised her healthiness to become wealthy (got her first break in Dum Laga Ke Haisha) and when the job was done, mission accomplished she transformed from chubby cheeks to in a tiptop and sleek and yes she acts quite well which is an added bonus because though now performance matters but still Indian mentality has girl should look beautiful then comes how she acts and cooks.

Shree Narayan Singh a relatively unknown to most but an accomplished and proven identity when it comes to editing especially if go by his CV be it,

Wednesday (2008)

Baby (2015)

Special 26 ( 2013)

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story ( 2016)

and last but never the least Mithun Da starter

Don Mutthu Swami (2008)

He has also tried his chopping skills in short films

Ouch (2016)

So editing is his forte why? Because one time when he tried his hands at being the captain of the ship he failed miserably and his B-Grade Ye Jo Mohabbat Hai (2012) is the testimony to it. But that was five years back and this is a new beginning with everything from his second venture is bigger and better and hopefully the 67 crores budget doesn’t get flushed down to the Toilet.

One more new unexpected addition going for this Prem Kathais that a recent new release has been totally dissected and rejected so everything should be all clear when it comes to attention and audience anticipation making it 5 days of unadulterated holidays thus unless you are as bad as it gets (like the politicians), it should be another feather in the cap of everyone concerned.

Reality Bites:

It’s unfortunate that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (which was NDA governments pet project and hopefully not a gimmick and they are still serious and its work in progress though nothing to showcase of late) of which TOILETS are the backbone has been totally rejected by the people yes don’t get surprised because by GD experience right from the GOVERNMENT officials who just don’t want to work to the last concerned especially the AAM JANTA be it in urban rural or any domain are still continuing with their adventures of littering, throwing, spitting and passing on to generations with passion.

Hopefully the movie based on a real life incident of a wife divorcing her husband because of lack of TOILET in the household, is very entertaining because only then it will have reach and maybe filthy mindset of people will be breached because seriously we are at the Point of no return.

Finally: Audience not only go to watch TOILET but also use it in their everyday moment. On the flip side the industry must be praying movie is a hit because that’s their urgent need so TOILET break should be last thing in 3200 halls approx public visiting this 2hours 35minutes social satire.
