Preview: Sniff, Gentleman, Qaidi Band, The Dark Tower, The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Interesting Releases or Sureshot Diseases?
First of all, a very Happy GANESH CHATURTHI to the readers and hopefully you earn much more than you can spend. many films are releasing this films Sniff, Gentleman, Qaidi Band, The Dark Tower, The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, let’s find out whether they are good enough or not to watch?
SHOULD YOU WATCH SNIFF?
Directed by: Amol Gupte who still is remembered, for AAMIR’S first directorial venture more than his other Movies like STANLEY KA DABBA which though were not Dabbas (useless) in any way in fact were quite entertaining with a strong message and in fact he has been the torch bearer of children as protagonist through his films.
Sniff it seems is his first full throttle commercial film with suspense as its backdrop thus making it a rare product because, to be frank, leave aside children we don’t get detective stuff even when adults are concerned.
Hopefully the audience gets the SNIFF of the movie and it’s not lost in oblivion as such ones deserve an audience but to be frank the release date has already killed the chance big time because summer holidays is where such movies like diamond can shine, now it’s either has to be very good and more so with word of mouth.
Shouldn’t the makers have coordinated with schools, we hope they do and make it reach as many they could?
SHOULD YOU GENTLEMAN?
Directed By: RAJ and DK, some may say who are they because the majority don’t even know they existed? Actually, they have been responsible for GO GOA GONE yes it’s a movie which actually majority didn’t GO resulting in it being GONE from halls in the 1st week itself and HAPPY ENDING which dint make neither the distributors, exhibitors nor the audience HAPPY.
So this time their hero is trying to behave like a gentleman unlike in the above mentioned but still from the trailer it seems he is at the right place at the wrong time.
Will the director duo make an impact, though to be fair to them they are not bad directors, in fact, they are those breed which is almost there but in the end miss the bus by being few steps away!
SIDDHARTH MAHALOTRA and JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ (Who by the way has started dubbing for her now, next step is acting) are the lead pair who the directors are handling and to be fair to everyone they need much more than many to get your attention unless it’s only about looks but then if looks were the criteria for success then that many would just vanish.
So if the trailer is anything to go by, you should only give it a try if you want to have a testosterone rush by watching the attractive lead pair going mushy.
But if by any means and anything is possible this movie turns out to be 50 percent more fun than what it seems then everyone will benefit.
SHOULD YOU WATCH BABUMOSHAI BANDOOKBAAZ?
Directed By: Kushan Nandy. He is the guy who last made HUM DUM in 2005 ok movie lost its DUM before the first show itself. He also made 88 ANTOP HILL in 2003, which we doubt even 88 people watched, hopefully, those unlucky few who watched didn’t jump from the top of Hill.
To give the director his due he didn’t lose heart or maybe someone was ready to burn their money again and is back with a BABU NAWAZ a competent actor but he seems to be doing like xxx movies where there are Galis Golis sarees Aur cholis and Badle Ke Aag with Khooni Ke Holi.
Looking at the trailer it’s rustic a tinge of western with no hats off course hopefully some scenes which bring claps if and only if anyone goes as has been the case with RAMAN RAGHAV, HARAMKHOR solo starters of NAWAZ don’t even get a dog, leave aside an average start, in fact, they are total washouts but yaa one thing rarely fails is the combined effort of the actors who are rock solid in whatever they portray especially in this case the females may take the cake and off course Nawaz will be the cherry whichever flavour is baked.
The fear factor is that in the end the fear of becoming irrelevant like many a talented before expletives sight whatever comes and in the end they are neither here nor there and except their performances, their movies go nowhere.
SHOULD YOU WATCH HITMAN’S BODYGUARD?
Directed By: Patrick Hughes of Expendables 3 fame and having a cast of Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds in addition to females like Salman Hayek, Eddie Young and Kristin Mitchell to increase the heat quotient this product looks potent.
SHOULD YOU WATCH THE DARK TOWER?
Directed By: Nikolaj Arcel and having a strong and powerful storyline from Stephen King novel of the same name on top of it when you have Mathew McConaughey it’s got to be right up there and if it doesn’t then don’t be surprised because screwing up is not just Bollywood’s game it’s in every nook and corner of Hollywood.
SHOULD YOU WATCH QAIDI BAND?
Directed by: Habib Faisal we sincerely hope not turning out to be a one film wonder what with the delightful DO DOONI CHAAR his only ticket to the glory which slowly is being tarnished with one Damb squib after another.
If the trailer is anything to go by, it looks to be different in terms of the subject but then different subject and dismal treatment with no entertainment is what been seen of late in most movies.
FINALLY: So many options but in reality no one creating any audience anticipation so it will be a big surprise if any further anyone takes a flight as most are expected to nose dive.
