New Releases March 24th 2017 Phillauri
New Releases March 24th 2017
Running Time – 2 hrs 18 mins of Fantasy and Drama
Directed and Produced by – Anshai Lal and Anushka Sharma
Co-producers – Karnesh Sharma and Fox star studios
Cast – Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada.
We at GD are most excited besides the unusual subject looking forward to Suraj Sharma, what pie he serves on the acting palate. Remember “Life of Pie” then a Tiger now a Ghost, who says life is easy?
Written or Inspired writing by – Avnita Dutt
The writer of Phillauri must be complimented for coming up with such a unique idea (wait a minute can we smell Tim Burton’s THE CORPSE BRIDE, a cult classic) though a part of it is quite relevant even in this age and times and will because no matter how materialist human race becomes, superstition is a never ending phenomenon and finds a way even in the best of the best.
Readers must have gone through news of humans being made to marry Non-living things or Animals to get rid of their bad luck etc. etc. and etc. If you think it happens only in subcontinent then think twice,
Even the Most prominent Miss world now Mrs. Bachchan, also went through this ritual by marrying a tree to get rid of negativity which Manglik posses (Mars but why? if I am not wrong women are from Venus).
Should you watch it?
It’s different, a majority of times becomes bland and boring, so what’s important is to try different but not for yourself but keeping in mind the audience, because all said and done if a product doesn’t reach the maximum it’s waste of everything be it great performance or out of the box treatment. (last week saw one of those examples check GD TRAPPED opinion)
Yes, why not or don’t complain or blame Bollywood for dishing out nothing different at least a try shouldn’t go down wasteland.
ANARKALI OF AARAH
Running Time – 113 minutes
Directed and written by – Avinash Das (Now what’s refreshing is to see someone putting his thoughts on the silver screen, as parent nurturing makes a big difference)
Former NDTV member left his job for more adventurous and make your name pastures.
Produced by – Priya Kapur and Sandip Kapur
Cast – Can’t get more competent artists than Swara Bhaskar, Sanjay Misra, and Pankaj Tripathi.
Should you watch it? Definitely for the whole team who to say the least should make it watchable.
Controversy is a boon especially for non-superstar products and why not they too deserve their share of the limelight in the grind of sweat and blood.
Running Time – 1 hours 43 minutes
Genre – Horror, Sci-fi Thriller
IMDB rating – 7.8/10
Directed by – Daniel Espinosa (Child44 and Safehouse fame)
Writer duo – Phett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadwood and Zombieland fame)
Cinematography by – Should be the highlight of the movie as has the man behind Anna Karenina (2012), Nocturnal Animals (2016), Atonement (2007), and Avengers Assemble (2012) etc.
Has it in them to make the movie live more at the box office.
Should you watch it – Has got everything going for it though the Budget of 58 million may raise few eyebrows as it’s too less as compared to some latest blockbusters but then shoestring cash makes work doubly harder and bring the best has happened many a time and won’t be surprising if it turns out the same as before times.
The Tagline ‘Be careful what you search for’ hopefully doesn’t turn out to be an audience search.
