Preview: Kapoor Siblings Sonam and Harshvardhan Clashed at the Box Office this weekend with Veere Di Wedding and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero.
Two Hindi films released this week, Sonam Kapoor’s VEERE DI WEDDING and BHAVESH JOSHI SUPERHERO starring Harshvardhan Kapoor. And one Punjabi Film CARRY ON JATTA 2.
First of all we would like to say that we are trying to improve for our readers and unlike our government we care for their feedback.
So, keeping in mind we are going to include from the next week our southern brothers and their sisters interest too.
CARRY ON JATTA 2
Genre – Rib tickling non stop nonsense comedy.
RUNNING TIME – 2 hours 29 minutes
DIRECTED BY – Smeep Kang
CV – Carry On Jatta (2012) was the man behind the cult comedy of Punjabi cinema which truely started the slow, steady but sure popularity of Punjabi cinema, fruits of which are being enjoyed now.
Has also been the guiding force for Yaara O Dildaara (2011), Vaisakhi List (2016).
WRITING, DIALOGUES and SCREENPLAY –
Naresh Kathuria, Shreya Srivastava and Vaibhav Suman.
CAST – Gippy Garewal, Binnu Dhillon and Gurpreet Ghuggi are back playing central characters once again and who better than them when it comes to bringing the house down. Mahie Gill in the 1st part is understandly being replaced by Sonam Bajwa, no we are not Being sexist but it’s reality it’s the fairer sex who mature faster that’s what we will say rest what it’s up to readers what conclusion their brains want to make because we are not saying old but mature which is respectable. Punjabi movie heroines have been quite smart as they have figured out Bollywood then Pollywood, Mollywood, Tollywood is there to make their mark just like Sonam Bajwa has been doing by playing lead heroine in Atakundam Ra (2016) and Babu Bangar (2016) etc.
WILL YOU WATCH IT? In Book my show people interested are almost 18k plus, gives an indication it’s a powerhouse in terms of regional movie.
We don’t even have to say yes as it’s still one of the most watched and that makes the sequel most anticipated.
CRITIC’S TAKE – Brings more than a smile.
Common Good points – Its fun on the run.
Not so good – You don’t need brains which hurts the intellectuals.
HITO-METER – Hit all the way.
VEERE DI WEDDING
Genre – Comedy
Running Time – 2 hours 5 minutes
DIRECTED BY – Shashanka Ghosh
CV – Khoobsorat (2014) and Waisa Bhe Hota Hai 2 ( 003) are any indication this captain is work in progress.
He was also the Controller of Quick Gun Murugan (2009) thus shows spark here and there.
Writing, Dialogues and Screeplay – Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri.
CAST – Delicious Kareena Kapoor and the efficient Sawara Bhaskara and the very talented Shikha Talsania (For those who don’t know and there will be many, is the daughter of the veteran actor and always good Tiku Talsania).
Yes there is another work in progress we are not saying going nowhere Sonam kapoor too. This time maybe talented sangat will bring the best out of her.
TRAILER IMPACT – Its been a pleasant surprise and if it’s any indication and covers even half of anticipation then this Veere Di wedding will be attended by more than what was expected .
SHOULD YOU WATCH IT? In Book my show people interested are almost 48k plus and thats like powerhouse.
Yes besides the trailer and the cast and hopefully the direction makes it a memorable wedding which is remembered for a long time by the baraatis.
CRITIC’S TAKE – Trailer has made everyone null and void so who cares those who have made up their mind even the scorching heat will not stop.
Common Good Part – It’s a Bindaas coming of age for women centric cinema and Shashank has sounded the shankh of his arrival.
Not so good – Nothing worth mentioning except maybe not your traditional family movie, thank God.
HITO-METER – Hit plus all the way.
BHAVESH JOSHI SUPERHERO
Genre – Desi Super hero
Running Time – 2 hours 35 minutes
DIRECTED BY – Vikramaditya Motwane
CV – His last Trapped (2018) was a epic disaster despite being made in peanuts.
Udaan (2010) had announced his arrival on the big stage with lots of promises but in reality if our point of view is taken it was too much more than what it really deserved.
Writing, Dialogubaazi and Screeplay Team –
Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap, Abhay Koranne.
It takes three to tango but also more than one to spoil the fun. Sincerely hope this time they don’t?
CAST – Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshvardhan kapoor, Ashish Verma, Rajiv Kachroo, Nishikant Kamat.
We care not being critical but Anil kapoor has still a better chance of getting an average opening than his son Harshvardhan kapoor, and that’s not good news at all where the jhakaas father’s son stands.
But we are still going to give him time maybe one fine day destiny smiles.
WILL YOU WATCH IT? In Book my show people interested are almost 5.5k which is very disappointing and is like almost NO.
CRITIC’S TAKE – It’s getting mixed response.
Common good part – Its dark and edgy in parts.
Not so good – length and some think the lead could have been better.
HITO-METER – Recovering cost will be a boon.
