Opinion: The Best thing About Race 3 is that we come out of the Theaters alive.
Eid 2018 release Race 3 is Directed by Remo D’Souza and Produced by Tips Films and Salman Khan Films.
Once I booked one of the most sort after Hotels and was desperate and excited to check in. I arrived there and was awestruck by its outer beauty and paid big bucks to avail it’s much talked about facilities and as a good traveler when I entered in the hotel suit first I wanted to witness the beautiful bathroom but unfortunately what I found was leftover latrine chunks of the previous guest in the pot. My excitement vanished and I vomited, Race 3 is like that hotel. I mean why in the world somebody spent over 125 CR rupees to make this shit. Anyway, Salman Khan has done many amazingly bad movies but this is among his greatest shits. I don’t know apart from some of the other Salman films like Dabangg 2, Ready, Bodyguard, Kick etc. when I last saw such a bad, dead and dull film like this made on a massive scale. Probably Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale was as empty and irritating. There Shah Rukh Khan acted well and here Anil Kapoor did the same. He is the only respite in Race 3 but nobody is bigger than the material. At least Dilwale had better songs while the songs of Race 3 may cause an ulcer in your ears. And these poorly constructed songs comes every now and then to halt the flow of an already tortoise-paced thrill-less action thriller. I doubt, apart from penning two horrendous love songs Salman may have also miswrote the script. And if Shiraz Ahmed who is credited as the writer of the film actually did this blunder then he should be refrained from picking up pens in future. Remo D’Souza misdirected this one, he should stick to dance choreography only remember his last venture Flying Jatt, my gosh. Why the hell people give him the director’s chair? And his fascination with flying people is to be seen here too, in one scene Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez almost flew from Cambodia to Al Shifa Island, I want that flying suit which has such great sense of route direction, so funny it is but unintentionally.
And now it’s time to talk about the trash cast. Daisy Shah is best off-screen, her dialogue delivery is very lethal for the humankind. Saqib Saleem who is otherwise bearable but here he is damn irritating, he keeps saying ‘Bro’ all the time to be cool but ends up being a fool. Then there’s Bobby Deol, we don’t need his comeback, he is such a bad actor. And imagine seeing Bobby and Daisy romancing for good 4 minutes lip syncing ‘Selfish Hoke Jiyo Na’ in the year 2018, come on it is like beyond a sin. There’s one scene in which Bobby, Saqib, and Daisy go inside the gutter Chamber of Cambodia to pull off a heist and it is like seeing Indian gutter’s garbage flowing through the Cambodian gutter. Why Salman? Why you become the casting director every time and make us suffer. And Jacqueline Fernandez is a curse for Bollywood, she has a special quality of speaking every dialogue with the same face. As I already said earlier that only Anil Kapoor acted well in the film and others either overacted or just did not acted at all.
And Salman Khan every time he comes on screen it looks as if he is doing a favor to the screen, the way he did to Bobby and Daisy. He looks uninspired throughout and his much-loved antics also felt like the victim of humdrum. Also, he killed the class of this franchise created by Saif Ali Khan by infusing Prem Ratan Dhan Payo kind of elements, seriously I am not joking.
And then his fans say we don’t need anything in a Salman movie, only he matters. But until when? He is doing it from three decades now, do something good, you have nothing to prove and let Varuns, Ranbirs, and Ranveers do such things. Salman is an incompetent actor we all know but earlier he had great looks and chiseled body but in Race 3 even his belly is visible hanging like a small pouch in many scenes. It is not like I am against commercial films, I love them if its good, I liked Ek Tha Tiger but Race 3 is a debris of the age-old Indian formulaic masala and we have more than enough of it. Well, the best thing about Race 3 is that we come out of it alive.
Biggest culprits of the debacle are Salman Khan and Ramesh Taurani for spending too much money on this dross. I’ll go with 1 star out of 5, stay away from it guys if you are not a Salman Fan.
