Mubarakan, Indu Sarkar, Raag Desh, Baraat Company or Valerian? What to Watch and What to botch?
Mubarakan, Indu Sarkar, Raag Desh, Baaraat Company or Valerian? Which one is worth watching? Lets find out.
Should you watch Mubarakan?
Anees Bazmee movies are shot from the roof top so please Keep your brain at home and enjoy the show and don’t blame us we didn’t warn as it may get loud, ok not the full 2 and half hours but bits and pieces and mind you those bits may put some intellectuals in fits.
Ok, it’s got nothing going great for it be it the Star Cast nor the songs, not even the script but then when it’s tagged Mindless Cinema Right?
Thodi Si Hasi Bhi Chahiye Jeene Ke Liye (and laughter is precious even if it’s limited).
Should you watch Indu Sarkar?
Madhur Bhandarkar thy name means realistic cinema in an unrealistic way. Though his body of work is exemplary (If National Awards were the criteria) but of late his films are lacking soul.
It’s based on the period of Emergency and the situations arising which led to it and because of it and how it affected the lives surrounding it. Hopefully, it’s more realistic and less of a gimmick.
If it has got the balanced doses of the subject and entertainment both in a classy and massy way and gets the balance right then this can be the pick.
Thanks to the Censor Board for bringing it from background to the fore.
Should you watch Raag Desh?
Tigmanshu Dhulia in his last few outings has been trying to increase his reach by making Mass oriented cinema overshadowing his niche streak and that sometimes backfires because you are neither here nor there, in fact, it does more damage than your success.
Based on a real life incident of Three Indian National Army Officers and their Bravado in 1945, hopefully, gets the director back on track and the movie becomes a loved one and not gets flacks as his previous.
Should you watch Baaraat Company?
Syed Ahmad Afzal the director has got the first two things right which are the launching pad for any product to succeed and that’s limelight? Songs have been liked by a small section and a Dubsmash video has struck the right cord so hopefully, some will go and watch because these kinds of films hardly get viewers.
Should you watch Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets?
If purely go by the critics then you should be completely avoiding it but if you want to see something which has nothing yet everything which makes it confusing then best of luck for it. The movie is based on French comic book which is not popular in the other parts of the world, so give it a try definitely it’ll be better than Mubarakan and Baaraat Company for sure.
Should you watch Vekh Baraatan Challiyan?
Always save the best for the last if strictly Trailer is anything to go by because it’s fun and Jhakaas. But yes it’s just a trailer and picture abhi baaki hai. From the makers of Punjabi cinema who have nothing but only increased its stature and gone beyond what’s caricature.
Films are direct reflection of the society (and our society is always busy in Baaraats, this week releases further proves my point) in general because whatever is showcased through directors mind is what’s going on in people’s mind. That means most of the time world goes through boredom and shit because what we see is mostly that and good cinema little bit.
Finally may the best man with the best movie win.
