Last week release Happy Bhag Jayegi had good trending on weekdays, especially on Wednesday and Thursday which was a Janmashtami holiday in many parts of the country and it may turn up as a surprise success if it’ll fetch decent numbers in week 2. The cost of the film is not high and lifetime collections of over 30 crore will take the movie into a safe zone, movie has got nice reviews and it gave benefit to the film. Here’s the day wise break up of week 1 :

Fri – 2.32 cr
Sat – 3.81 cr
Sun – 4.58 cr
Mon – 1.62 cr
Tue – 1.63 cr
Wed – 1.82 cr
Thu – 1.87 cr
Total: ₹ 17.65 cr nett.

Rustom remained the first choice of moviegoers for the second consecutive week though the fall was more than 70% in the second week but it doesnt matter now as the movie has already made profits for the producers. Akshay Kumar became the 1st star to give three 100 crore films in one year and brought back over 340 crores to the industry with these films in 2016.

Week Breakup :
Week 1 – ₹ 90.90 cr
Week 2 – ₹ 26.11 cr
Total – ₹ 117.01 cr nett.

Mohenjo Daro crashed completely in the second week and ended up being a disaster for the makers.

Week Breakup :
Week 1 – ₹ 51.18 cr
Week 2 – ₹ 6.24 cr
Total – ₹ 57.42 cr nett.
Though in Overseas Mohenjo Daro is moving towards $5 Million USD mark which is good considering its domestic performance and infact the business of Rustom in foreign markets is also similar to Hrithik Roshan starrer Period drama.

We’ll be back with the weekly box office update on next friday, till then stay tuned for more.
