Gal Gadot: Mother of two children establishes herself as a Global Star with Wonder Woman.
Ten days back Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman released starring Gal Gadot and not only it became the number one movie in the world at the box office but also received acclaim from the critics world over. It in fact as per the experts saved the DC extended cinematic universe future which otherwise was receiving flak for the films it made. Wonder Woman which was the best part of Superman Vs Batman though her role was meatless, here in a standalone film she and the movie as a whole emerged as a winner. The movie has made over $435 million USD in ten days and has lowest percentage drop in the second weekend compared to any superhero film which released in the past, even less than Avengers. This is a feat which is surprising and tells us not to underestimate female directors and women oriented films. The credit for this success must go to a lady who is the captain of the ship, Patty Jenkins whose direction is like fresh air in the world of superhero films, her work is defined and she has concentrated on every little aspect of the film and not invested everything in just created scenes for ocular treat like the other films of the genre. She took care of the story as the most important tool and has delivered big time. The conversations between Gadot and Pine are delicious to hear and their chemistry is so organically charming. Jenkins has done a great job but the best thing about the movie is the leading lady, Gadot.
Her casting is pitch perfect, when you look at her in the movie doing dare devil action scenes or talking tenderly to Chris Pine you feel she is not a year older than 20. Her agility, fitness, focus, oomph and charm makes her a delightful screen Wonder Woman, but hold your breath she is 32, married and mother of two daughters. And you’ll be surprised to know that she shot few scenes of the superhero movie while she was five months pregnant. She delivered her second baby in March this year. She is an inspiration for all the women in the world. First to take birth in a country like Israel and making a mark in American cinema is remarkable already and then we get to know about her maternal state while shooting for Wonder Woman, Amazing! At the age of 19 Gadot won the 2004 Miss Israel beauty pageant, and then she carried out her two-year military service in Israel at the age of 20, then she studied law. When she had completed her first year of school a casting director called her to audition for the part of Bond girl Camille Montes in the film Quantum of Solace. she failed to get the part, the same casting director later hired Gadot for the role of Gisele in Fast & Furious. Gadot performed her own stunts in the Fast & Furious films. Then she appeared in small roles in many American films. Featured on the cover all the major fashion magazines, in April 2012, Shalom Life ranked her Number 5 on its list of “the 50 most talented, intelligent, funny, and gorgeous Jewish women in the world”, behind model Bar Refaeli and actress Eva Green. Gadot married Israeli real estate developer Yaron Versano on September 28, 2008.
Finally she got a big break in the form of Wonder Woman, a film where she had to shoulder the entire proceedings on celluloid. Remember once she acted alongside Tom Cruise in a tiny role in Knight and Day and today her film crushed the same Superstar’s new big release The Mummy at the box office. Wonder Woman has made Gadot an International Star, similar to what Hunger Games did to Jennifer Lawrence. Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the highest grossing female oriented action film till date with $865 million USD and I hope Wonder Woman will cross it. Gadot is all set to reprise the same role in Justice league, which will release in November this year and the trailer is looking orgasmic. Bring it on, I want more of Wonder Woman but I wish Gadot will choose scripts which justifies her talent in future and she continuous to be wonderful.
