What and why in this world took two years to make this film? Mr. Ajay Devgn you should stick to acting only and please for Shiva’s sake don’t ever dare to direct another film in future that’ll save this world from the wrath of destruction of your direction.
The movie creates more noise pollution than diwali crackers and has deadlier dangerous smoke too around it for nothing. I did a ‘Paap’ by watching Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Gutter’ film ‘Talaash’ in my childhood and trust me the story line is same only earlier one was shot in Africa and Shivaay is filmed in Bulgeria and yes watching this movie is also nothing less than a crime. Devgn has used the name of a religious ‘God’ to cash in the benefits from the masses but to be honest its better to take a ‘Kaanwar’ and go to ‘Baba Dhaam’ rather than watching this predictable boring Action cum emotional cum family drama film. We are going back as film makers it is again proved by Shivaay, when you have the money and resources then why to make the same old escapist port boiler, they could have made a real action adventure mountain mission flick but we get a thousand times told story with no emotional connent and soul.
As a result good points of the film gets badly overshadowed by the negatives, there is a scene where Devgn breaks down and we realize that, man what an actor he is but then why to waste the talent by doing such films and also directing it, though not to forget his ‘Kamla Pasand’ act which tells us why he is wasting his potential. The songs by Mithoon are good but forgettable, Cinematography is top notch by Aseem Bajaj, the canvas looks huge but sadly it is empty. Child actress Abigail Eames is good but her part is not well defined in fact all the characters are cardboardish. Both actresses Sayesha Saigal and Erika Kaar are lifeless on screen, Girish Karnard, Vir Das and Saurabh Shukla are wasted. I don’t understand what made three writers Sandeep Srivastava, Robin Bhatt and Ajay Devgn himself to write this script? The screenplay is so dull and predictable that even the action which is choreographed so well also looks repetitive and monotonous. And then whenever Devgn fights in Bulgeria the BGM says ‘Jaa Jaa Kailash’, why? What is the flight cost of Bulgeria to Kailash by the way? I doubt even on Kailash, Devgn will get no takers to watch his Magnum ‘Bogus’. I’ll go with 1 star out of five.
