Dangal Becomes Highest grossing film of all time.
Dangal Becomes Highest grossing film of all time, opens 350 cr club – Nitesh Tiwari directed sports biopic is creating new benchmarks with every passing day which will be difficult to match for others in the times to come. Dangal after setting the record of being the first film ever to collect over 100 crores in the second week has created another feat by registering the highest grossing third week of all time with the collections of 46.35 cr including Tamil and Telegu versions beating the previous record holder PK which made 42.64 cr in the third week. Aamir Khan films have always created benchmarks for Indian Cinema and now with Dangal which became the first film ever to breach 350 cr mark, he further consolidated that he is the most accomplished brand in the Indian Cinema today. This is 5th Aamir Khan film which emerged as all-time grosser in last 104 years of Indian Cinema history and this is one achievement that people can dream of only while Aamir Khan has actually achieved it. The week wise break up of Dangal is;
Week one – 197.54 cr
Week Two – 115.96 cr
Week Three – 46.35 cr
Total – 359.87 cr net (All versions)
Now that the movie has passed all the tests at the box office and critically despite 2016 being the worst year for the movies and we cannot put aside the demonetization factor too, Dangal tells us that great films always comes out victorious whatever be the situation is. And if not the cash crunch affected, it would have done the business of 375 cr in three weeks flat nevertheless in all probability Dangal will have a lifetime business of over and around 380 cr but yes apart from the collections it will always be remembered as one of the greatest films ever made in India.
In overseas also like all the films of Aamir Khan it has again created history by grossing over $25 million USD despite not getting a release in Pakistan, the tally in three weeks stands at $27.46 million USD (187.36 cr) and time will tell whether it will become the third film in the history to cross $30 million marks or not, only PK ($48 million USD) and Dhoom:3 ($32 million USD) has done it in the past.
