Veerappan:

Director – Ram Gopal Verma

Budget – 8 to 12 crore approx

Critics total average rating: 2.33/5 (Below Average)

1st-weekend Collections – 6 crores approx

Completely rejected: another jolt for Ram Gopal Verma who seriously needs to introspect and dissect himself before he destroys another real-life legend (in a negative way Veerappan was).

Should it be watched? Yet another live character assassinated cinematically.

Phobia:

Director – Pavan Kripalani

Budget – 8 to 12 crores

The film features music by Daniel B George. The film features only one song. The lyrics for the song ‘Roke Na Ruke’ were written by Jay Shankar Prasad and sung by Sakina Khan and Sidharth Basrur.

Total critics average rating: 3.5/5 (very good)

Should it be watched? Yes for those who are suckers for horror movies, which are a rarety if the quality is taken into account then. Major praise centered on Radhika Apte’s performance. Apart from her performance, the film’s other production elements and picturization, background score, and special effect works were also praised by the critics and audience.

Waiting:

1st-weekend collections – 95 lakhs

Didn’t even touch a crore, though was not at all bore, who cares and wants to watch a Naseer and Kalki (who is not a commercial heroine material period as per the media)

Waiting had its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival on 11 December 2015 to positive reviews from critics. It was also screened at the closing gala of the London Asian Film Festival, where Menon won the Best Director Award. The film was released theatrically in India on 27 May 2016.

Director – Anu Menon

budget – 8 to 12 crores

Total critics average rating: 3.28/5 (Good)

Should it be watched? if you like quality human emotions.

Stay tuned for more, we’ll be back again next week.
