Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety becomes a Surprise Hit, Padman is Average and Padmaavat earns over 525 Crores Worldwide, the box office is happy in 2018 as the Love Ranjan Directed small film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has made around 27 CR in three days and it may end up making over 50 CR at the domestic box office in its full run, not only that the film is looking to make over $1.5 Million USD at least in the overseas markets in just one week and will eye towards $2.5 million lifetime total. The small budget film gives a win-win situation for the makers and the industry both.
Akshay Kumar starrer and R. Balki’s Padman has done average business at the Indian box office and made around 79 Cr in 17 days and looking to finish at 82-83 CR mark which is fine but not good for an Akshay Kumar film. In overseas also the film died quite early and fetched only $3 Million USD.
Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary flopped at the box office and made only 17 Cr in India though ended up making $2.5 million in the overseas markets. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic magnum opus Padmaavat is now the 8th Highest Grossing Hindi film of all time worldwide and the 10th biggest Indian film with the collections of a massive 525 CR ($82 Million USD) it is only behind Dangal, Secret Superstar, Bahubali 1 & 2, PK, Tiger Zinda Hai, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dhoom:3 and Sultan.
In the overseas also the movie is making waves and has made whopping $30 million USD. The new year for the cinema industry of India has begun on a really good note. The historic run of Secret Superstar is still going on and we’ll come up with full a coverage of its gobsmacking success story later this week.
