Bollywood Gets its Smile back, Dilwali Became Fruitful as Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar Showered Huge Profits.
Diwali showered lots of wealth to the ailing film industry as both Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar earned big bucks at the ticket windows and brought back the smiles of the distributors and the trade as a whole. In fact, first Judwaa 2 which made 138 CR and then the above two films worked like the much-needed oxygen. Talking about the big budget film Golmaal Again first, it is moving towards the coveted 200 CR mark in the domestic market and which will be the first for its lead actor Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty’s second after Chennai Express. The movie had a big landing cost of 95-100 CR (Production, Print, and Publicity) and it required this much amount of collections to rejoice the industry and the makers. So far in India Golmaal Again has made a nett collection of 193.51 CR and in overseas the tally stands at $6.75 Million USD which interestingly is Devgn’s highest grossing film outside India. The 17 days total worldwide collection is at 292 CR which is brilliant.
Moving on the second Diwali release, the small budget Advait Chandan directed Aamir Khan Production’s Secret Superstar which has made a nett collection of 60 CR so far in India and in overseas it has collected $6 Million USD. The landing cost of the film is 25 CR (Production, Print, and Publicity) which is on the lower side and the film has made heavy profits to emerge as a clean hit. The movie will add more bucks to its overseas total as it is yet to release in Russia, Hong Kong and the major territory of Megastar Aamir Khan who has been seen in an important cameo playing the role of music director Shakti Kumar in the film. The 18 days worldwide total of the movie stands at the healthy number of 115 CR which makes it a big win for the makers.
