New release of last week Banjo has failed badly at the box office by putting up very poor numbers and is now out of almost all the screens nationwide except Maharashtra. Nobody showed any excitement for the film and as a result it earned only 8.67 cr in its 1st week and it’ll end the lifetime business at somewhere near 9 cr. Disaster!
Here’s the day wise break-up of the film;
Fri – 1.72 cr
Sat – 1.95 cr
Sun – 2.25 cr
Mon – 90 lacs
Tue – 72 lacs
Wed – 61 lacs
Thu – 52 lacs
Total: ₹ 8.67 cr nett.
Last week’s another release Parched which had a lot of acclaim and awards in the national and International festivals circuit was a complete wash out and not even the multiplex audiences came to see the film. It earned a little less than 1 cr in its 1st week which says it all, a good film on content but another disaster.
On the other hand Pink continued to earn big at the ticket windows in the second also and added approx 20 cr to the tally to take the total to 57.78 cr, and as we predicted last week that it’ll go past 60 cr mark which seems possible because the movie has retained 698 screens in the third week despite the release of Dhoni-The Untold Story, which may fetch another 5-6 cr. It is a surprise Super hit, word of mouth and savvy promotion has done the trick for the film.
We’ll be back next with all the box office updates till then stay tuned for more.
