1st MONDAY india collections –3CRORES APPROX
Azar 4 days total Indian collections – 23 crore approx
Saw a drop which was more than 60 percent, and mostly sounds disastrous for movies.
Strong – central india, South India
Weak – Rest of India
Gyan darbar thoughts – What’s really sad is that a decorated cricketer like MOHAMMAD AZARRUDIN deserved much more than that, especially from the filmakers, maybe he should have chosen or given green signal to more competent makers for his life journey to be shown on silver screen to go ahead, those who were more interested in showing everything in a classy-massy not messy way which they did.
Overseas collections- 4crore approx
DIRECTOR – TONY D’SOUZA (known for BLUE and BOSS one was disaster and other flop)
Azar is based on one of the most naturally gifted and classy batsmen the world has ever seen, who went on to captain india in 2 world cups (50 overs).
Ironically he scored a century against south Africa in his last test which was also his 99th, before the ugly betting controversy took over and tarnished his career.
Gyan darbar critic rating – 2/5( below average).
Critics total average rating – 2.44/5 average.
Imdb – 7.6/10
Rotten tomatoes – 50%
Cast – Emraan Hashmi, prachi desai, nargis fakri
Budget – 38crore approx
Strong – performances and direction
Weak – VFX especially the cricket could have been shown in a more realistic way)
Should you watch it – YES , as it’s part of Indian sporting history which was like a Bollywood script which had chills spills and thrills.
