Some may say, how couldn’t a controversial subject that to related to bedroom life which is personal couldn’t find its way, when everything which as a dose of sex works for the best especially this time when was handled by the best.
Here is what the GD team feels the reason for it sorry state –
1.Poor publicity – especially when you are dealing with a Taboo subject, you ought to go all out and create a sensation. When it was banned in ALIGARH, nothing dramatic from the makers in form of reaction. All said and done it’s a cinematic medium which should have the maximum reach, by hook or crook, of whatever you preach.
2 . Wrong Release date, as in summer holidays would gave been grate.
All the hard work in end went down the drain, with nothing to gain for everyone concerned as they only got heart beak and pain.
Hansal Mehta’s movies have always got its share of Pre release publicity be it his last release SHAHID or any,be it positive or had negativity. But this time whatever he considered headache in past, actually was a boon which hopefully he now realises and uses as a tool.
Unlike Oscars, which help a product which was in pits to be a hit (American sniper is prime example), Indian movies once rejected even if award contender (though awards seldom do justice) can’t find a way unless something drastic happens and audience realises what good they missed, also it reflects how seriously Indian or any awards are taken in our society.
