Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is Karan Johar’s Diwali Gift for The Urban Indian Women.
The much awaited Diwali release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil directed by Karan Johar has finally released after all the controversy and some sections appealing to boycott it on national grounds. Sigh. Let me start by discussing the plot of the movie, we all know Karan Johar loves to show rich people super rich people and their stories, what happens when they fall in love or say when they get their hearts broken and surprisingly the super rich people when dealing with heartbreak they behave exactly like us. Once the heart has been broken no vacation no amount of money soothes you no matter how rich you are. So yes, this film is about heartbreak. This is the story of Ayan played by Ranbir Kapoor who meets his twin Alizeh. They gel like the smoothest of gels. Together they are fire, the story has many ups and downs but the bottom line is Ayan and Alizeh are meant to be together, they are together even when they are physically not. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays Saba, a poetess and she has mouthed some poetry and looked amazing and that’s about it of her. This movie belongs to the two fiery actors Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma they have got the pulse of their characters to the T. The highlight of the film is their chemistry.
Talking about the direction I would say Karan is completely in his element. He is someone who understands relationships too well and it shows in ADHM. He understands his characters and how would they react in different situations. Karan Johar gets full points for his latest ode to relationships during the time of smartphones and the internet. The costumes and locations are of top notch, I am sure the dresses worn by the actors will become a fad among the current generation. The songs are already very popular and after the release, the songs are gonna gain more connect and popularity.
There are many cameos and the most significant one is of Pakistani sensation Fawad Khan. Man, he is super hot and in this movie whatever screen time he has got he would make sure that everyone just notices him, he looks like a Sex God and acts brilliantly. His cameo literally leaves the viewers wanting for more, he is that good.
It also has a cameo by SRK and in that one scene, he proves why is the king of romance. Alia plays a DJ at a nightclub and she is as usual fab and cute, Lisa Hayden plays Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend and she is funny in her part and makes her character likable despite having grey shades, certainly, the perks of seeing a KJo movie is that u get the glimpses of your favorite stars.
So ladies must carry your handkerchiefs handy as this one is a tearjerker. ADHM is a perfect festival release and will be liked by every age groups alike. I am sure once you leave the theater u will bring the sweetness of the relationship between Ayan and Alizeh with you.
